Our Special Verpa Mushrooms (Verpa bohemica) — also known as Early Morels, False Morels, or Thimble Morels — are a rare spring delicacy foraged from the cool, temperate forests of Swat, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir in Pakistan, regions nestled within the Himalayan, Hindu Kush, and Karakoram mountain ranges. Their distinctive thimble-shaped cap, delicate texture, and subtle earthy flavor make them a prized ingredient in gourmet, seasonal, and vegetarian cuisine.

Although Verpas resemble true morels (Morchella spp.), they differ in structure and culinary behavior. Verpa bohemica features a loosely attached cap and softer, more fragile body, whereas true morels have a fully attached, hollow cap with a firmer, meatier structure. Because of this, Verpas are best used in soups, light sautés, and baked dishes, where their tenderness can shine without being overwhelmed.
